The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is the easiest way to prove that you are competent in your occupation and aware of health and safety regulations. The size of the credit card, your photo, and unique identification number, makes it ideal for easy identification when you arrive on site.

CSCS has been around for over 10 years. ‘It was started with the aim to improve quality, reduce accidents and ensure a high quality work-force.’

WHY DO YOU NEED A CSCS CARD?

At present the government is committed to driving the cowboys out of the construction industry and raising standards of both workmanship and health and safety. Many influential bodies are working towards a policy of a fully qualified workforce by 2010 when it will be compulsory to prove the skills and qualifications of workers before they can work on site.

Many contractors are already insisting for all workers on their site to hold a CSCS cards to prove their competence in their stated occupation and that they comply with health and safety regulations.
